Zoom, Zoom to a New Room

Several weeks ago I decided that I wanted to update Graham's room.  When I was pregnant and putting his room together, I definitely made a big effort not to make it too babyish, and while the decor was still fine, I wanted to do something that I felt fit him and his personality.  So what did I choose to do?  A car-themed room!  Anyone who knows our little man, knows that he LOVES cars and trucks.  I decided I was going to repaint the room and add my own mural on the back wall.  I wanted the mural to look somewhat kiddish - not too professional or fancy looking, which ended up working perfectly with my painting skill level.  I also found an awesome rug and a new rocking chair (we never got a rocking chair, we just used an old office swivel chair, which just wasn't cutting it anymore) at IKEA and new sheets (on which the room was based) at Pottery Barn Kids.  I printed out and colored some pictures online to help complete the artwork on the wall.  The only thing missing is the red curtains (which my mom is shortening) and transportation-themed knobs that I ordered from Etsy.  I am pretty happy with how it all turned out.  Here are some pictures of them almost finished product:

Cracking Up - The Sequel

Here is Graham completely cracking up.  Who knew a laser pointer (for the cats) could be so hysterical?  This is the sequel, to remind yourself of the original, go to this post.

Sick Day

Our little man has been under the weather for the past week.  It started off with a cold and cough (which I figured he'd gotten from me).  He had a rough night Wednesday night and early Thursday morning - waking up, unable to get settled.  I decided I wanted to stay home with him and give him a day of TLC.  Thursday night and Friday morning were not much better.  That combined with the fact that he wasn't eating much, led me to believe that something was up - probably and ear infection.  We brought him into the doctor Friday morning and sure enough, an ear infection.  Luckily we caught it early, so he is now on the mend.
Here's a picture of us at the grocery store, waiting for his perscription to be ready and picking up a few snacks for him over the next couple of days.  What a trooper!

15 Months

A little over a week ago Graham hit the 15 month mark!  He has grown so much - his vocabulary is expanding, he's running, climbing, and exploring his world.  I LOVE the top picture of him.  That toothy grin and those dimples melt my heart.  Yesterday, Graham had his 15 month check-up.  He weighed in at 23 lbs. even, dropping him from the 40th to the 30th percentile.  He stayed in the 75th percentile for height, growing nearly 2 inches for a total of 32.25 inches.  My tall and skinny boy!  I was a little surprised at how skinny he was since he shovels the food in at mealtime, but he is so active, he must just burn it all off.  He was in perfect health and survived three vaccinations.  At his 18 month appointment we will have 1 vaccination and then none until he is 5!  Below is short video of Graham driving Lightning McQueen, his 1st birthday present from Michael and I.  How cute is he?

Birthday Girl

Yesterday I celebrated my 30th birthday!  I had a wonderful time celebrating with Michael's parents and his brother.  Unfortunately Michael (at a conference in San Diego) and my parents (on a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia) were out of town and missed the festivities.  We had a delicious brunch and the BEST red velvet cake I have ever had.  And I LOVE red velvet cake, so it completely appropriate for me to judge it.  People were incredibly generous, and I received many thoughtful gifts.  Thanks to everyone for helping make my big day such a special one!
Cute decorations!
The best birthday present there is.

Seriously.  There's nothing better than this little man right here.

Have a Seat

Graham has been all about sitting on the couch and chairs and sitting in his little chairs.  He even decided that the bouncy chair at daycare (which was taken out for a new baby) was just the right fit for him.  He has started pulling himself into the chair in his room and he couldn't be prouder.  Next up, getting onto the couch by himself.
